Security and vulnerability reporting

We develop add-ons for the CS-Cart and Multi-Vendor platforms that run in our customers' online stores. We consider the security of those stores to be part of our job, so we welcome vulnerability reports from customers, security researchers and anyone else who comes across a problem. This page explains how to send a report and what happens to it afterwards.

How to report a vulnerability

Please send your report to security@cs-cart.pl. Every message is read by a person, not by an automated system. We accept reports in English and Polish.

We can help fastest when the report includes:

  • the add-on name and version and, if possible, the CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor version,
  • a description of the problem and its possible impact,
  • steps to reproduce the problem or a sample request,
  • whether the vulnerability is already being exploited, for example traces in the store logs.

If the vulnerability is already being exploited, please say so in the first sentence of your message, because such reports are handled first.

What happens after you report

We acknowledge receipt within three business days. We then assess the issue and let you know whether we can confirm it and when we plan to release a fix. We keep you informed while we work on it and, once the fix is released, ask you to verify it if you are able to.

If a vulnerability turns out to be actively exploited, or a severe incident affects the security of an add-on, we report it to CERT Polska and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) as required by Article 14 of Regulation (EU) 2024/2847, the Cyber Resilience Act. We inform affected customers directly and tell them how to protect themselves.

Security fixes

Security fixes are released without undue delay and are available free of charge to all licence holders of the add-on, including those whose subscription has expired. The fix is shipped in a new add-on version, which can be installed through the Upgrade Center in the store admin panel. Where technically possible, security fixes are released separately from functional changes, so they can be applied quickly and safely.

Once the fix is released, we publish information about the resolved vulnerability in the add-on changelog and, if you wish, credit you by name or handle.

Support period

Every add-on version receives security support for at least five years from the date it was placed on the market. After the support period ends we still accept reports, and we still report actively exploited vulnerabilities to CERT Polska and ENISA.

Rules for security researchers

Please do not publish details of a vulnerability before we release a fix or before 90 days have passed since your report, unless we agree on a different timeline together. While researching, please use only your own installation, do not use other people's stores or data, do not disrupt the operation of any store and do not keep personal data you may come across. We will not take legal action against anyone acting in good faith and in line with these rules.

Scope

These rules cover add-ons developed and sold by SoftSolid, as well as our licence and update servers. Vulnerabilities in the CS-Cart or Multi-Vendor platform itself should be reported to its vendor. If you are not sure where the problem lies, simply write to us and we will pass the matter on.
